To start off our list for today, the first tip of advice that I can give you to save money on vacation is to pack a little light. The reason why I say this is because when you go to the airport, they price your luggage based on how much it weighs and if you go past the limit of their weight limit your baggage might get searched and you will get charged extra so pack light! My second tip of advice that I can give you based on personal experience, is to go on vacation when it ISN’T the holidays. I say this because airports and resort companies, such as Disney and Universal, will increase their prices during the holidays because they know more people are going to show up at their door. I made the mistake of going on vacation during Christmas and I ended up paying $850 in airfare just by myself!Their goal is to make money and yours is to save it. Don't go during the holidays! The third tip of advice that I can give you to save money while you are on vacation is to avoid foreign currency exchange stations. They charge you a fee just to convert your money and you get charged a fee to convert it. Some currency may also be worth less than the U.S Dollar so don’t use those machines only in case of an emergency! The fourth tip that I can give you is to avoid ATM’s. Avoiding ATM’s saves you money because you will avoid the fee that it charges you just to use it! I suggest using a credit or debit card while you are on vacation and getting cash at your local bank before you travel. The last and best tip that I can give you to save quite a bit of money on your next vacation is to travel very early in the morning or very late at night. Prices of airfare/train are lower during the night and very early morning because nobody is traveling on them. Ever since my first vacation, I decided to travel in the middle of the afternoon and it wasn’t a good idea. I ran into crowds, ran into lunch hour at the airports and had an overall miserable, difficult experience. When you travel early in the morning or late at night, you avoid traffic, people traffic at the airport and you get cheaper tickets!
